Curtiss-Wright data systems for MQ-25 – UV – Unmanned Vehicles
Curtiss-Wright’s Defense Solutions has been selected by Boeing to supply data technology systems for the US Navy’s MQ-25 unmanned aerial refuelling programme, the company announced on 23 April.
The MQ-25 is a carrier-based UAS that has been designed to provide the navy with an unmanned refuelling capability. Boeing’s engineering and manufacturing development programme will deliver four MQ-25 aircraft to the US Navy for initial operational capability by 2024.
Dave Bujold, MQ-25 program director, Boeing, said: ‘The MQ-25 programme is vital because it will help the US Navy extend the range of the carrier air wing, and Boeing and our industry team is all-in on delivering this capability. The work we’re doing is also foundational for the future of Boeing – where we’re building autonomous systems from seabed to space.’
